Beginning on Thursday, April 21 through May 31, 2016, the Kate Spade & Company Foundation will match on a “dollar-for-dollar” basis any financial contribution* made by Kate Spade & Company employees to GlobalGiving specifically for the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. By using your Katespade email at checkout, your donations will be automatically matched by the Foundation – there is no need to request the match separately. Please email foundation@katespade.com with any questions. It is through our collective participation that we will actively support ongoing relief efforts in Japan. Thank you for your support.

*Total donation capped at $1 million.

How GlobalGiving Approaches Disaster Relief | GlobalGiving sends funds to both multinational organizations and local nonprofits to support immediate disaster response efforts. In the longer term, they work mostly with local NGOs to rebuild and develop the affected areas. Their experience has shown that local organizations who were there before the disaster continue to be there after to contribute to the community’s transition from recovery to reconstruction to development. All of the organizations receiving distributions from the fund below have been vetted by GlobalGiving to determine their legitimate, charitable status wherever they are registered.
